Don’t wait until 9, or worse, 10 PM to blog. I know, I know, you all are just getting started on stuff like Facebook updates round about 10, having returned home from work 8-ish and had the family dinner, tuck-ins and high-bandwidth spouse sync. You’ll probably be in bed by 1 AM – early night! It’s different with moi.
True, I rise at 6:00, exercise for 90 minutes and then dig into the day’s to-dos. I won’t bore you with the 20 plus items on today’s list, including errands, shopping, bank postal necessities et al. accomplished before I cleaned myself up and started dinner (pulled BBQ turkey on wheat buns, with Doe’s salad – a much lighter version of dishes we ate on the road in Mississippi). Linda decided, as a special treat, that I could do the pots and pans tonight, too, since she was ‘busy.’
Tomorrow features a Heidi rehab therapy session, followed by chemo. Linda has decided to ‘let’ me drive to my appointments, rather than rely on desirable, but very slow, public transportation. Bless you dear, and thank you for the half day I will now be able to spend filling out insurance forms. People think ‘retirement’ is a dream. Hmph. Did I mention to remind me not to blog late in the evening?

Wooohoooo!
Thanks for this encouraging and uplifting look into what lies ahead for those of us who are younger! Thankfully, with the current state of things, it sounds like people of my generation won’t have to endure this thing called “retirement” of which you speak…we’ll be working into our graves!
Greg – I didn’t think I’d ever make it, either, but things just kinda worked out. Of course it helps that my retirement horizon is likely to be short, but don’t give up hope. Good things happen in our lives, too…
