Remembering what it was I forgot to forget about

by cg on November 29, 2009

This morning saw a brunch encore of our meal with friends Anne Peterson and (the Rev.) Stuart Coxhead Saturday a week ago. Readers will recall (even if I couldn’t) that Stuart said something brilliant over dinner, stuff for a great blog post, which I couldn’t recall a couple hours later. Nor could Linda, nor could Anne, nor, it eventually turned out, could Stuart himself.

So today, having made sure it had a fresh battery and plenty of recording time left in its memory, I took along my little Olympus Digital Voice Recorder as a way of making sure I didn’t repeat the error of my previous way.

I announced this to our little group as we prepared to attack our eggs and brioches and salmon cakes – only to remember that I’d left it in my backpack, locked in the trunk. At least I made everyone laugh…
