New York: black & white frames of mind

Spent a blessedly lazy morning editing black and white pictures that I’ve been taking here, many with a new, very small Lumix LX-3 camera. It has an optical viewfinderer which makes it handle like a small Leica. I’m still learning how best to use this little gem – it has a fast Leica Summicron lens and a relatively large, high quality sensor.

This is also my first photo foray into NYC since the “neural downgrade” happened 3 years ago. So I’m learning a whole new style of photography, as well – the lower mobility means thinking about photo situations entirely differently. Anyway, a bunch of loosely edited snaps are now on Flickr…

Ken Rockwell was right. Digital camera users really do spend their trips staring at a computer instead of taking pictures.
