Macworld! Macworld! Macworld!
Our highly unofficial coverage of Macworld starts Monday. Now that I’m, um, retired, I have time to take gulker.com back to its tech-reporting roots. Stay tuned for an eclectic mix of news, observations and opinion… (search the site for Macworld: if you want just the MW news)
UCSF day
Blogging is a bit sparse today: been up to UCSF for physical rehab. I’m exhausted…
Macworld’s 2 weeks away
While we probably aren’t up for standing for a couple days straight, we will be doing our usual, eclectic (some might say eccentric) Macworld coverage on gulker.com. So far we’ve touched base with Netgear, Pzizz, Parat, Targus, Harman/Kardon and JBL and, natch, we’ll be scoping Apple’s announcements…
Wikipedia
Wikipedia continues to amaze me… is there nothing that’s not written up on this massive, emergent encyclopedia of everything? Recently, I heard Rufus Wainwright’s version of the song ‘Hallelujah‘… curious, I searched Wikipedia, and sure enough found a long writeup, noting that Leonard Cohen wrote it and including lists of many of the artists […]
All the news that’s fit to click
Have you noticed that newspapers are becoming front ends for web sites? The line above this post comes from a New York Times promo for its multi-faceted web presence.
The S.F. Chronicle and S.J. Mercury are particularly chock full of pointers to additional web coverage, particularly for featured content.

Our gardener and his crew have been working hard, pulling out the old patio, and replacing it with new sod, and soon, new plants. Here’s a 3-pic panorama stitched together from 3 frames).
Our beautiful Japanese Maple has a new bed around it, and will soon get some complimentary plantings, courtesy landscape designer Danna Breen.
Danna’s been […]
Breakfast with a really nice guy
Scott Loftesness and I have exchanged blog links, comments and email for years, but have never met, despite living in the same town. A couple weeks ago, Scott pinged me and suggested we get together. His office is right by Menlo Train Station and the hip, busy Cafe Baronne.
I admitted I liked Ann’s - a […]
The Tesla roadster… Wow!
Here’s the red Tesla Roadster prototype that I rode in this afternoon thanks to Rob Coish and the crew at Tesla Motors with pilot Ernest Villanueva at the wheel. The car’s Ferrari-beating 0-to-60 in 4 seconds acceleration is not only real, but you can punch it at any speed and get the same […]
Cool KFOG show this morning
Linda’s blogging the really cool ‘vinyl’ show KFOG’s broadcasting from Village Music in Mill Valley this AM. Lotsa 60s music to warm our 50-something hearts…on the air until 10 if you want to tune in…
