William Danforth Memorial Scholarship Bill Danforth was a great mentor: he had a profound influence on my life, and I've learned that I was not alone. In 2002, the academy announced a scholarship fund in Bill's name. The goal of that scholarship will be to allow the current generation of great mentors at the Academy to continue Bill's work of reaching out to young people who would otherwise not be afforded the opportunity.
